We have developed a relationship with one of Faith's friends. She is a really funny and kind girl. She is smart and makes good grades. She treats her family well. She is a good friend to Faith and seems to have it pretty together, as much as a 13 year old kid can. She was missing something though.
She was fearful and uneasy about how the world was going to end after watching a movie at the theater...I haven't seen it, I am not sure what it would lead one to believe. But, a beautiful door was opened :) We were able to share with her about Jesus. She couldn't walk away, not because of us...but because of who He is. She asked lots of questions. She listened intently. She was so obviously being pulled. Big Daddy was sharing the Roman Road with her and explaining scripture to her and answering her questions. I was able to go into the next room and lift her up to the Lord...I knew there was a battle going on for the precious girl's soul. It is the most powerful battle in one's life and for the most part we are completely oblivious to it. Isn't that something?
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
She became a new creation tonight. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. It is beautiful. She was washed over with a peace and relief. He gives her that. He gives us that. What a powerful God we have.
Sometimes we plant the seed, sometimes we water the seed. Sometimes you can water all day and night and never see a glimpse of the goodness to come. And then there are nights like tonight when we are allowed the privilege of witnessing the seed to push through the fertile soil and sprout. We will not know here on earth who planted, who watered or who will fertilize this growing seedling but what a sweet spot we were in tonight. Thank you Lord for allowing us to be your vessel.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. Jer. 1:5
Big Daddy was sharing with her that God has a plan for her. He has always had a plan for her. I wish you could have seen her face. It was an expression of surprise, joy and hope. It was greatness!
I don't know about you but seeing someone come to Christ excites us! It fans the flame. It gives us so much to rejoice. We have the security of knowing that we have one more sister in the kingdom...and there is room for so many more.
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15:7
