To See Clearer & Love Deeper

So this past weekend when Shaley and Kelsey stayed the night...we pulled an all nighter...as we would have it no other way. We beat our last all nighter record. Gosh, it was 5 or later in the morning before we finally hit the hay. It is always good stuff. Real stuff. Talking, eating, learning, sharing, loving and praying. Shaley name dropped a guy I hadn't really heard of. I didn't think much of it. But, as I generally do when she drops the name of a person, pastor, book or church, I had to dig into it. It is always worth looking into.

Well, the name was Shane Claiborne. I stumbled upon this. It is long. But, I promise you will not only be blessed if you watch the video...you will be changed.

My most favorite line in the whole sermon is this: "Jesus never talked to a prostitute. Because he didn't see a prostitute. He saw a child that He was madly in love with."

Lord- I pray for new eyes. Eyes like yours - to see the image of God in every person.

I want to be that radical "lover". I want to get out of my own way. I am my biggest obstacle. I think things out...I want answers and solutions and schedules and rules. I want the security. And, if I would get over myself and see that God wants the best for me, all the time, even when it hurts. Even when I don't see it, He does. In fact, He wants more for me than I could ever even fathom for myself. His best for me is things that I can take with me to heaven. And when it gets right down to it...those things aren't things at all.

im so glad you looked him up... the way he talks reminds me of how Jesus might talk very gentle and loving. His books are very radical but very awesome... they make you want to do crazy things like sell everything you have and give it to the poor! We've been so pumped since this last weekend...talking about yall way too much, getting on everyones nerves probably! We are in Fredicksburg this weekend with Cassie and Pete...well i guess its not the weekend yet we took an early one... bout to go swimmin! Love yall!

I wish our world could think like this...most of the problems we face today could be solved. Instead of always looking to "what is best for ME," we need to see as the Lord does. Such great entries the past few days...the Lord is working on you, girl!
