A New Thing...Friday Faves

Ok, so I read this really great blog by Missy at It's Almost Naptime. She is fantastically witty and has so much to say that intrigues a stay at home mom like myself. The post that hooked me was posted on Amanda's blog Baby Bangs. It was this one...Going Krogering. Not only cracked me up but made me hug my kiddos a little tighter :)

Anyway, she is hosting a Friday Faves and this week it is your favorite perfume. Easy enough, and it keeps me from packing for the trip :)

Vera Wang by Vera Wang is my current favorite, actually has been for years. I am not one of those people who can do a winter/summer or a daytime/evening fragrance split. I am a perfume monogamist. And I only have long term relationships. Here is what I have read about Vera Wang:

Vera Wang has captured desire in a modern, floral bouquet. The first encounter is a flirtation that begins with Bulgarian rose, calla lily, and mandarin flower. The flirtation is followed by a passionate kiss of gardenia, lotus, iris, and white stephanotis. The fragrance is wrapped in a final embrace of sheer musks, white woods, and precious floral nectar.Notes:Bulgarian Rose, Calla Lily, Mandarin Flower, Gardenia, Lotus, Iris, White Stephanotis. Style:Elegant, feminine, and sensual.

Sounds sexy, huh? So not an adjective I'd ever use to describe myself. But, it does make me feel pretty if that works.

Forever before I wore Vera I wore only Amarige. It was another that would last and didn't change all funky on me. So many times I tried to wear the really feminine fragrances that other women would have on. They would change to something awful...almost an insect repellent scent..yuk! So, I have to be choosy. This one was light but strong willed. Here is what I have read about it:

Amarige expresses the emotion of love at first sight. A romantic scent of grace, warmth, and fantasy for a spirited, confident, spontaneous woman. Notes:Neroli, Rosewood, Violet Leaves, Citrus Notes, Gardenia, Mimosa, Melon, Peach, Plum, Cashmereon Wood, Tonka Bean, Vanilla. Style:A romantic scent.

Spontaneous? That one is most definitely not me. My husband says he can leave for a trip in 30 minutes and I will plan for weeks. So true.

Y'all if my husband reads the description of these two scents he just might feel cheated. Poor guy, I feel cheated on his behalf.

Of course I don't think I would purchase a perfume entailing what I may be like on a daily basis. It isn't too sexy or too spontaneous.

Click on the Friday Faves button above to read more about favorite perfumes and link up your own.

You crack me up, serial monogamist perfumer!!

I read your daughter's story about the birthmark - oh, she is ADORABLE!! Have you ever been to Gwen Oatsvall's blog?
http://oatsvallteam.blogspot.com/

She adopted Maggie, who had a burn scar on her scalp. When they got her, that baby was bruised and had cigarette burns on her. And when they went out in China, old ladies would come up to them and fuss at Gwen in Chinese, she assumed because of her scar, like why would she take a child with a scar. Maggie screamed all night long for months, presumably from the abuse she suffered in the orphanage. Oh - my heart.

So, so glad you got that baby out of there. Next month we begin the paperwork to get our's :-)
